For wedding day events, the dress code is cocktail attire.
Because both the ceremony and reception will be held outdoors, we recommend footwear and attire that works well to walk on grass and get down on the dance floor – we expect you to boogie with us! – plus to comfortably enjoy the elements.
Google would tell you the average temperature for September in Clarklake, Michigan is between 52-73 degrees. Last year on September 21st the temperature was 85 while September 22nd was 62, so there ya go.
Weather permitting, the ceremony will be held at the Clarklake Community Center, located at 3740 Ocean Beach Road, with the cocktail hour and reception that follows to be held at the O’Brien residence, which is hop, skip and jump down the street, located at 3217 Ocean Beach Road.
For directions, please visit the Transportation & Parking page for details.
For alternate plans, should the weather not cooperate, please call 419-407-6748 and listen to the voicemail for information on change of venue.
The ceremony will be held outdoors on grass at the Clarklake Community Center, or in case of inclement weather, underneath the reception tent at the O’Brien residence. The reception will also be hosted outdoors on grass underneath a tent, so please plan to dress accordingly.
We recommend ladies wear shoes appropriate for walking on grass, such as flats or wedges, and to bring a light layer in case of cooler temperatures in the evening.
Gentleman should bring a light layer in case of cooler temperatures in the evening.
Time to celebrate!
Following the ceremony, we will hosting an adults-only cocktail hour starting at 5:00 PM followed immediately by the reception at the O’Brien residence.
This should allow for ample time to wipe away the tears of joy and get caught up on all of the football happenings of the day.
Guests should plan to be in their seats at 4:00 PM with the ceremony to start shortly after.
While we love your little ones, the cocktail hour and wedding reception are adults-only events, so everyone can relax and enjoy the evening.
We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.
We appreciate that you know this event will be off the hook and you want to bring more to partake in the festivities, but we ask that this remain strictly RSVP-only based on your invitation.
We would ask that you please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony; however, we encourage plenty of picture-taking during the reception!
